"March is Florida Bicycle Month. Contact your local municipality for a list of events in your area of the state. For a list of contacts go HERE. If you know of events in your area, let us know and we'll post on the calendar of events on the FBA blog. Also check out the Florida Bicycle Touring Calendar for a list of bicycle rides in March and throughout the year. Help us celebrate March in a big way for bicyclists.

The month of May is promoted nationally as National Bike Month by the League of American Bicyclists, however, many cities/areas throughout Florida choose to observe Bike Month earlier due to Florida's warm weather.

SEND YOUR MESSAGE TO THE NATIONAL BIKE SUMMIT

March 9-11, 13 Floridians will attend the 10th edition of the National Bike Summit in Washington DC. The National Bike Summit is our chance to tell members of Congress how the federal government can create a bike friendly America. Unfortunately, we will not have advocates representing all of Florida's 25 congressional districts, so we need your help.

Will you let the Florida Bicycle Association and members of "Team Florida" bring your voice to Capitol Hill?

If so, send your name, your representative and a short statement about why bicycling is important to you or what issues concern you most. A member of Team Florida will deliver your message directly to your congressional representative and senators.

To find the name of your representative, go HERE. Enter your zip code in the "Find Your Officials" box and the names of your federal and state elected officials will appear. For a statewide perspective of districts, check out the Florida Federal Congressional District Map available as a PDF file.

It's not too late to register for the National Bike Summit. The more constituents from Florida, the more powerful Team Florida will be during our day on Capitol Hill. "
