6-9pm

Art and Culture Center of Hollywood
1650 Harrison Street
Hollywood, FL 33020

"New-York-based contemporary artist Ryan Humphrey incorporates BMX bikes in dynamic 2- and 3-dimensional works. Fast Forward features a large-scale, floor-to-ceiling installation in which BMX bikes are attached to the gallery walls. The installation includes a massive wrap-around rug, a collection of bike-inspired paintings and mixed-media pieces, and three interpretations of Marcel Duchamp’s Bicycle Wheel (1913) set against BMX bike ramps. An interactive activity area is also a part of the exhibition. The show runs from June 18th – August 14th, 2011

Fast Forward was included in the Queens International 4 exhibition at the Queens Museum of Art and in the group show Bicycle: people + ideas in motion at the Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia. Humphrey will attend the opening reception with BMX pioneer and special guest Dizz Hicks."
