"Cranksgiving is an event designed to give back...Participants go from supermarket to supermarket purchasing non perishable food items...Which - at the end of the event - will be collected to later be given to a local food bank...

There is no registration fee to take part in this event...

This particular Cranksgiving (Cranksgiving305) has been designed with everyone in mind - from children to racers...It has been broken down into three (3) routes...
  • The Poult is the shortest of the routes where participants only have three (3) supermarkets to go to before returning back to where they started...Parents with children should feel comfortable with this route as it should be less total mileage than a Critical Mass...
  • The Flock is a six (6) supermarket route created for those looking to test their endurance...
  • The Gobbler is a nine (9) supermarket route designed for those individuals who like to push themselves to the limit...
All routes start and end at the corner of NW 27th Street & NW 6th Avenue...
There is no onsite parking - only public parking...Please find something close to the start/end location - and just ride on over...

All types of bikes are welcome - even ebikes...Rollerblades and rollerskates are welcome as well...Participants can basically ride anything not gas powered...

There is a $90 cash prize for the first person back from The Gobbler...Participants using anything "powered" are not eligible for the prize...
There is also a $60 cash prize for the Most Charitable...All routes and all "vehicles" are eligible...

Something to carry the food items purchased is a must - like a basket or some type of bag...Bike lock - helmet - and lights are recommended if it makes you feel more comfortable...There is a one (1) item minimum to be purchased from each supermarket - so please be sure you have either cash or credit on you as well...

Participants will have give or take one (1) hour to register - from 9am to about 9:50am...
At around 9:45am a manifest outlining the supermarkets in route will be attached to each person's bike...The manifest will be in a sealed envelope only to be opened once the event has officially started - around 10am...

There will be someone at the corner of NW 27th Street & NW 6th Avenue until around 1pm - where the food will be collected and prizes handed out...Participants who make it back after are more than welcome to keep the food items they purchased...

Again...This event was designed for everyone so please enjoy your city - be safe - and most importantly have a great time...

(Thank you all for participating)..."
