Google Maps Adds Directions for Cyclists

It's finally here, Google Maps bicycling directions. Unfortunately there's not many bike lanes/paths and greenways in S. Florida so please use caution. Bicycling directions are in beta. Average speed used to determine trip time is about 11.5 mph and some of the recommended routes will definitely cause you to raise an eyebrow. Though it's a great start, it still needs a lot of work.

Read more about it here.

Hopefully I no longer need to anticipate the possibility of Miami being included on Ride The City, a similar bicycling/map website that helps you find safer bike routes in cities. Ride The City is currently only available in NYC, Chicago, Austin, DC, Seattle, San Diego & Louisville.
