Explore Miami with Dade Heritage Trust Bike Tours!

Dade Heritage Trust, with partners Green Mobility Network and Brickell Bikes, invite you to join us the second Sunday of each month at 10am for a themed bike tour exploring urban Miami.  Tours start at Dade Heritage Trust HQ at 190 SE 12 Terrace, unless otherwise noted.

Tours are just $10 or $5 for DHT members for a leisurely, guided ride.  Bike rentals are available in advance at Brickell Bikes at 70 SW 12 Street, 305-373-3633.  Join us for these great rides and get to know the beauty and history of Miami!



Bike Tour Schedule

December 10:  Little Havana National Treasure
This bike tour explores the best of Little Havana as we visit famous and not so famous venues and find our way with some help from our Knight Foundation Winning Friends Mira Eso Tu.  We end with refreshments at the World Famous Ball & Chain on Calle Ocho!

January 14:  Marjorie on My Mind
This tour takes us to the Coconut Grove home of Marjorie Stoneman Douglas - reporter, activist and most famous person known who lobbied for creation of Everglades National Park.  The house is a lovely Grove cottage managed by Florida State Parks.  This tour also offers a complimentary ride on the Metrorail and you will learn how to put your bike on the train!

February 11:  Little River is for Lovers
Little River was established in the late 1800s and was incorporated into the city of Miami in 1925. The neighborhood is bordered to the north by El Portal, to the south by Little Haiti, to the east by the Palm Grove Historic District, and to the west by West Little River.  We’ll first a studio, an urban farm, an historic district and more.  This is a LONG ride!  But worth the pedal!

March 11:   Overtown Landmarks Tour
Overtown has an amazing history and the neighborhood is rapidly gentrifying.  We will meet with neighborhood influencers and visit the Lyric Theater, churches, the  Black Police Precinct Museum and more!

April 8:  The Secrets of Sewell Park
Bet you've never been to Sewell Park on the Miami River!  This waterfront City of Miami Park is at 1801 NW South River Drive and is named after former Miami Mayor, Everest George  Sewell.  Parks Director Kevin Kirwin joins us on this tour of this gem of a park.

May 13:  Let's Take a Ride to Morningside
Ahhh Morningside, lovely homes, shady streets and a wonderful respite from busy Biscayne Boulevard.
This ambitious ride takes us  over 50 blocks north of downtown.  We will utilize the Baywalk as much as possible for great views. We'll talk about the history of the neighborhood and the Biscayne Corridor.
