Sunday, October 10th
1:15pm

Government Center
150 NW First Street
Miami, FL 33128

Ride starts in Downtown Miami promptly at 1:30pm, we will ride via A1A to Fort Lauderdale Beach for a 10-10-10 global sustainability event. We will then join the Greenfest Critical Mass Ride at 4pm on South Beach Park (FTL). At 5:30pm we will begin our trek back to Miami. Total ride is an estimated 75 miles, average speed 18-19mph. This is a long ride at a fast pace so keep yourself hydrated and fueled. Bring an extra tube and/or repair tool kit, also safety lights as it will almost be dusk upon our return. This ride is not recommended for beginners, you will most likely be left behind if you cannot keep up. Check out the tentative route here.

About the ride:

It's FREE and no registration is required.

Arrive at 1:15pm at Government Center. We will leave at 1:30pm sharp. Our goal is to arrive at Fort Lauderdale Beach by 4pm.

We will make 1-stop at Hollywood Beach.. rendezvous point is Sun & Fun Cycles ( Hayes Street just east of A1A). We'll take a brief break there to rehydrate/refuel before we continue north to FTL Beach.

Our goal is to be at FTL Beach by 4pm, join their 10 mile Greenfest Critical Mass Ride, then grab a bite to eat in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. We should wrap it up around 5:30-6pm before beginning our trek back to Miami. Estimated arrival to Miami is 7:30-8pm.

I want to stress this is a very loosely organized ride. There is no SAG vehicle, etc. Bring your own supplies (water, snacks, tools)

This is an afternoon ride and unlike most morning group rides which deal with little to no traffic, we will be riding on busy streets.

The group is composed mostly of fixed gear bikes and road bikes. Average speed 18-19mph

It is likely we will spilt into 2 groups hence the rendezvous points on Hollywood Beach, FTL Beach, etc.

Ride safe!

Fun fact:
In downtown Tokyo, sumo wrestlers will be cycling to practice on 10/10/10
