"Miami South BMX is expecting over 600 riders and 3,000 spectators coming to this event. We are expecting a large group of amateur and professional BMX riders coming from all parts of the state of Florida, the South East, Latin America and beyond. This race is one of several key races in earning points and placement under the SSA (Sunshine State BMX Association) state championship.
Spectators are welcome and encouraged to witness this Olympic sport. Racing begins at 11:00am on Saturday and at 9:00am on Sunday. We will have several representatives from the NBL (National Bicycle League) available to answer any questions you may have regarding BMX.
Through the arduous efforts of a completely volunteer organization, Miami South BMX has recently undergone a major overhaul to the track’s surface. According to Track Director, Brian Loy, "We are expecting some hard fast racing given the redesign of the track “.
BMX (bicycle motocross) has seen a significant spike in ridership and attendance since its debut as an Olympic Sport during the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing, China. This international recognized sport is a great form of fitness and competition as racers are separated by gender, age and class."
