Bicycling on Biscayne could become much safer. Concerned residents of the MiMo/Upper Eastside -Edgewater - Omni stretch of Biscayne Blvd/US-1 are meeting with engineers from FDOT (US-1 is a state road) this Saturday morning to talk about ways to reduce the average of over 1 crash per day on the 16th-87th street stretch, dozens of these involving a driver hitting a person walking, riding a bike, or catching a bus.

They've done the hard part of getting FDOT to agree to walk a stretch of Biscayne and talk about short and long-term safety improvements, and they've invited elected officials and county transportation officials, too. Show your support for better, safer bicycling by joining them at 11am at Legion Park this Saturday.

Multiple potential safety improvements will be discussed- it's possible none of these policymakers has ever ridden a bicycle on Biscayne Boulevard, if they have on any Miami street. They want and need to hear from you. Let's show our gratitude and show them the way to street design that promotes local business and protects people who use it.

Free & Family-Friendly. Plenty of bike parking available.
